The former striker of the national team of Russia on football Alexander Kerzhakov will continue to play for “Zenit”. The new agreement of the Petersburg club with the 33-year-old striker is designed for one season, informs a press-service of the team from Neva banks.
Kerzhakov played for Zenit from 2001 to 2006, after which the forward has passed in Spanish “Seville”, then in “Dynamo”. In 2010 the striker returned to Petersburg, where he played in 2015.
In the second half of last season it was leased to the Swiss “Zurich”, and in the summer term of the contract with the Petersburg club has expired.
In an interview to the official website of “Zenith”, the veteran said that this year will definitely not last in his career.
“I think it’s normal for a player who has expired the previous contract. I don’t feel 33, but realise that football is a relatively large age. In any case, everything depends on me. I will try, I will benefit the team and the club as much as you can. If the year and if all goes well, and I am sure that all will be well, hope to be able to play further,” he said.
We will remind that Alexander is the best scorer in the history of “Zenit” (161-ball in 368 games) and the entire Russian football and has been repeatedly recognized as the best player in the country according to various versions.
