Police in the Altai region opened a criminal case in connection with the attack on prominent journalist Grigory Pasko in Barnaul, perfect at the end of September, reports “Interfax” with reference to press center of the regional interior Ministry cupola.

“Check, which was carried out by the police after reporting the attack on Pasko, ended with criminal charges. The case was initiated under article “the Beating” and is currently under investigation,” the Agency quoted an unnamed employee of the Department. Other details in the police said.

At the same time, Pasko said to”echo of Moscow”that much optimism about the disclosure of the case does not feel. Earlier, he told the”Rain”that he showed a video depicting the suspects in the attack on him, and said that it does other people. “From which I conclude that the real person not found”, – said Pasko.

Earlier he said that on September 27 in Barnaul, where he arrived on a seminar with the participation of young investigators, at hotel “Snail” on the street Korolenko, he met “two bulls”, one of which is sharply and very hard hit him in the head, and then said: “Leave our city, we’re gonna get you”.

After the incident Pasko filed a police report and has passed the medical examination. He suggested that the customer of the attack is a local Patriotic activist Andrei Malevich, the day before published in the Network article, which calls Pasko “foreign agent”, who came to the Altai.

This reporter is sure that his case was “political order” aimed to intimidate all journalistsin order to “know their place and not stick out”. In this regard, Pasko believes that the case should have been to bring on charges of obstructing the lawful activities of a journalist.
