Court of arbitration for sport (CAS) in Lausanne will make its verdict on the appeal of the Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova in the first week of October, according to the official press release from the organization.

We will remind that earlier the international tennis Federation (ITF) athlete was disqualified for two years for violating anti-doping rules, expressed in the use of Meldonium prohibited from 1 January 2016, the world anti-doping Agency (WADA).

29-year-old tennis player appealed to the CAS with a request to decrease the duration of weaning from tennis, for which she has already missed the 2016 Olympic games and Wimbledon and the US Open.

The period of Ineligibility begins on Mary 26 Jan 2016. A number of companies ripped on Sharapova’s advertising contracts.

It was expected that the CAS decision will be published prior to 19 September.
