Head coach of Armenian football Varuzhan Sukiasyan resigned from his post after a series of four defeats in a row, informs the press service of the football Federation of Armenia (FFA).

“The head coach of the national team of Armenia Varuzhan Sukiasyan reported the press service of the FFA on his resignation from the post of chief coach of the national team”, – stated in the message of the FFA.

Sukiasyan was appointed as the chief coach of the national team in December of 2015, succeeding the Swiss specialist Bernard Challandes.

The team under his leadership have lost their last four games. At the start of the qualifying tournament of the world championship of 2018, the Armenians suffered three defeats in a row with a total score of 1:8, losing to the teams of Denmark (0:1), Romania (0:5) and Poland (1:2). The series complements a setback in a friendly match with the Czechs (0:3).
