The organizers of the tennis tournament of the Challenger series in Casablanca, Morocco, during the match, doused with gasoline and ignited wet in the rain the clay court in a desperate attempt to continue the interrupted due to bad weather the competition, according to British newspaper The Mirror.

“We had a long break for rain, and one side of the court entirely covered with large puddles. To solve this problem, we poured on the ground gasoline and set him on fire. We don’t normally do, but I’ve seen this before”, – quotes the edition of the tournament Director Carl Baldwin.

An unusual procedure was carried out during the semifinal match between Belgian Arthur De greef and Frenchman Maxime Janvier, in which, after a controlled fire on the court, excelled 19-year-old representative of France.

For Janvier the final of the ATP Challenger Tour was the first in his career.
