Two-time silver medalist of the Olympic games in Sochi, the Russian biathlete Olga Vilukhina on his page on the social network Facebook announced the completion of sports career.

“I don’t want anyone to mislead and pretend to train and prepare for the Olympics 2018 in Pyeongchang. Since October I have stopped training and decided to end her sport career,” wrote 28-year-old Vilukhina.

After the Olympics in Sochi biathlete missed a year, restoring health, and last year started the speech with the IBU cups.

“The home Olympics and the preparation for it was given to all. All the energy, all the emotion and all the experience that we gained from childhood. The Sochi games was so strong and bright event in life that for me was already impossible to come back. Not so much physically, but emotionally”, – stated in the message of the athlete.

Olga admitted that after the Olympics in Sochi she got a new one, solely personal aim. Perhaps that is why she did not work, fully focusing on work to achieve good results in the past season.

“Believe me, everything possible was done to return to the previous level. I am honest and worked hard, but the pleasure of work was gone. This experience further convinced me that in order to succeed, you need to “burn,” explained Vilukhina.

At the Olympics in Sochi Vilukhina won silver in sprint and relay. She is also the bronze medalist of the biathlon world Championships 2012 in the pursuit and silver medalist of the world Cup.
