Scottish boxer Mike Towell died after injuries sustained in a fight with Welshman Dale Evans for the title of champion of great Britain in the Welterweight division.
The match took place on Thursday in Glasgow.
25-year-old Towell in the first round was sent down, but managed to rise and continue the fight, which was stopped by the referee in the fifth round.
Mike couldn’t leave the ring alone. He was carried off on a stretcher and immediately taken to the hospital. In the hospital of the Scot hooked up to a ventilator, but despite all efforts of doctors, on Saturday morning the athlete passed away.

Note that the Towell before meeting Evans has won 11 of his 12 fights, and one was a draw.
