Court of arbitration for sport (CAS) in Lausanne rejected the appeal of the Russian jumper in height of Anne of Chicherova on deprivation of the bronze medal of the Olympic games in 2008 after rechecking her doping tests.

In October 2016 the international Olympic Committee (IOC) announced the decision to deprive Chicherova bronze medal Games in Beijing because of her doping test after rechecking had traces of the banned anabolic steroid turinabol. The athlete appealed to the CAS on the IOC decision.

“In accordance with the decision of the CAS, the verdict of the disciplinary Commission the IOC in which the athlete was found guilty of violating anti-doping rules at the Olympic games 2008 in Beijing, confirmed, and result of athletes in competitions in the high jump where she took third place cancelled”, – stated in a press release CAS.

Chicherova, which in July celebrated its 35th anniversary, is the Olympic champion of 2012 and winner of the gold medal of the 2011 world Championships in South Korea Daegu.
