Women’s national team of volleyball for the second time in history won the European championship gold in volleyball, which took place in Georgia and Azerbaijan, repeating the success of 2011.

s=”maintext”>As reports official website of the tournament, in the final of the Serbian with the score 3-1 (25:20, 25:22, 18:25, 25:18) won the Netherlands national team.

The bronze went to Turkish women, which in the consolation final, also in four sets won against mistresses of competitions Azerbaijani women – 3-1.

The Russian volleyball players in this tournament are unable to defend the title of Champions of Europe, losing in the quarterfinals the team of Turkey.

As notes a press-service of the Russian volleyball Federation, the team, under the leadership of new head coach Konstantin Ushakov in the final classification was listed in sixth place, as among the losers of the quarter-finals at her second in the rank of additional indicators.

The Russian team won gold medals at the two previous European Championships in 2013 and 2015 .
