Coaching staff of Russian national team on football at the head coach Stanislav Cherchesov has made one change to the expanded list of teams to prepare for the confederations Cup in 2017, which will be held from 17 June to 2 July 2017 in Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Kazan and Sochi.

Instead, the goalkeeper of FC “Zenit” Andrei Lunev, who was injured in the match of 29-th round of the championship of the country with the “Krasnodar” (1:0), the list includes goalkeeper Tula Arsenal Vladimir Gabulov.

“Sorry about that, caught in the extended list of Andrey Lunev, who the coaching staff hoped, the present and the future, was injured and was eliminated from the candidates for participation in the confederations Cup. According to the head coach, the decision to replace Luneva Gabulov was due to several circumstances.

“The coaching staff is very familiar with this experienced goalkeeper, and he accordingly to our requirements. Another candidate for adaptation would require much more time. He has experience of playing for the national team (10 matches), knows the partners, which is also important on the eve of the tournament,” the coach said.

Let us add that on may 22 the trainer’s staff of Russian national team will call the names of the 26 players from the expanded list, which will go on training camp in Austria, and the final application should be published no later than June 7.

Before the confederations Cup wards Stanislaus cherchesova will hold two friendly matches to 5 June in Budapest with the Hungarians, and on June 9 in Moscow – with the Chileans.

The Russian team will play in group A of the confederations Cup. 17 June in Saint-Petersburg she will meet with team New Zealand on 21 June in Moscow with the team of Portugal, on 24 June in Kazan – the team of Mexico.
