The spacecraft “Shenzhou – 11″ (“Sacred bark – 11″) with two taikonauts (astronauts) on Board made a successful docking with the previously launched into orbit laboratory module “Tiangong – 2″ (“heavenly Palace – 2″), reports the Agency “Xinhua”.

As reported TASS with reference to the Beijing control center for the mission was in automatic mode at 03:31 Beijing time (22:31 Tuesday GMT) at an altitude of 393 km above the Earth. Chinese taikonaut hypen Jing, and Chen Dong passed into the orbital module where they will work for 30 days.

The spacecraft “Shenzhou – 11″ was launched on Monday, October 17, with the help of carrier rocket “Long March – 2F (“Changzheng – 2Эф”) from the launch pad at the Baikonur Jiuquan (North-Western Gansu province).

“Shenzhou – 11″, the sixth Chinese manned spacecraft. Its docking with the orbital module is considered the key towards the creation of a permanent orbital station under the flag of China.

Before taikonauts Chipana Jing and Chen-Tung tasked to conduct a number of scientific and applied experiments in space. Among the scientific equipment with which they will work – highly sensitive gamma-ray detector, developed jointly by the engineers of the PRC and the European space Agency (ESA).

After returning the crew to earth after a 30 day stay in space, the orbital module will continue to collect scientific data in automatic mode. The estimated lifespan is two years.
