Special services of South Ossetia on 17 September detained the citizen of Tajikistan Umarjon Usmonova on suspicion of recruiting the ranks of the banned terrorist group Islamic state (DAISH). He was extradited today to Russia for the subsequent transfer to Tajikistan, announced at the Committee of state security of the Republic.

“As a result of rapid development of the alien using the South Ossetian cellular operator “the Megaphone” through Islamic extremists used Internet service Zello was engaged in propaganda of the ideology of the banned in Russia, the radical organization “Islamic state”, – is told in the message of the Committee.

According to investigators, Ismonov wanted to transit through Georgia and Turkey to infiltrate into Syria to participate in the war. Among labor migrants from Central Asia he spent campaigning for their involvement in the ranks of extremists.

The head of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov earlier urged “to solve the problem of lack of control and anonymity of the global virtual space, which is actively used by terrorists for recruitment.”

In 2015 the meeting of the Council of heads of States – participants of the CIS Vladimir Putin said that in the IG, according to various estimates, are 5-7 thousand immigrants from Russia and other countries of the Commonwealth. At the same time, the militants have declared Jihad on Russia. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the Downing of the Russian plane over the Sinai on October 31, which killed 224 Russians returning from Egypt.
