Razdolnensky district court of Crimea has sentenced a local resident Vladimir Baloga to three years and seven months in a General regime colony and a fine in the amount of 10 thousand rubles for the storage of ammunition and explosives, writes “Novaya Gazeta”. Police found an Arsenal of Baloga shortly after the activist posted on his house the Ukrainian flag, and then sign with the new name of the address where he lives – “Street of the Heavenly hundred heroes, 18″. Human rights activists believe that the case against him could be fabricated.

We will remind, on November 29 to Baloha arrived the Chairman of village Council Vitalii Stepaniuk with two assistants and asked to remove a sign with the mention of those killed during the Euromaidan. Baluch then told me that that day he was threatened with interaction with the police, if he did not obey the requirements of the authorities.

Soon after his house was raided by FSB and during the search found 89 military rounds, including 19 rounds was suitable for firing. Upon detection of ammunition criminal case was initiated under part 1 of article 222 (illegal storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition).

Prior to this, the activist was brought to administrative and criminal liability for their Pro-Ukrainian position. His house was twice searched. During the first search, the police removed from the roof of Baluja the Ukrainian flag. After conducting a second search Ukrainian was accused of insulting a representative of authorities in the face of a police officer (article 319 of the criminal code) and sentenced to 320 hours of compulsory works.

The Crimean human rights group said then that the case was politically motivated, and both a search in respect of Baloha was held with gross violations, all the cases built on the testimony of the same witness that Baloch had ever seen.

According to human rights activists from the centre “memorial”, the case of illegal possession of ammunition could also be fabricated. “It is extremely unlikely that well-known regional activists are subject to constant pressure from law enforcement officials and the leadership of the local administration, whose house in 2015 has been searched twice, would be to store ammunition. It is also important that the body of inquiry there is no evidence that discovered in the attic of the house of the civil wife of Baluga ammunition belong to him, they even have his fingerprints. The fact of munitions there was only one witness in the absence of the accused”, – emphasized in the center.
