Syrian Jaber al-Bakr, detained in Germany on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack, planned to carry out an explosion in a Berlin airport. As reported “Interfax”, said the head of the Federal office for the protection of the Constitution of Germany Hans-geographic locations Maassen in an interview with TV channel ARD.

“We have received information of the secret services, originally his goal was to train in Germany, but in the end he chose the Berlin airport,” said Maassen.

According to him, the decision on the detention of Syrian was adopted after he acquired the heat-resistant adhesive that can be used in the explosive device. In the end, it really was discovered in the suspect’s apartment: it was completely ready to use.

Al-Bakr were hiding from the police, but was arrested at the apartment of Syrian refugees, which he applied for asylum. Those, however, tied him up and handed over to the authorities.

As previously reported, the explosives discovered in the apartment of 22-year-old native of Damascus, was used in the terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels .
According to investigators, Jaber al-Bakr was under the influence of ideas of the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russia).
