Editor of Forbes Woman and Forbes Life Yulia Taratuta leave his post because of disagreements with the new leadership
The management of the publishing house “AC Media”, in which the fall of 2015 includes Forbes, decided not to renew the contract with the chief editor of Forbes Woman and Forbes Life Julia Taratuta. In her own words, she did not agree with the new concept, proposed by the management ID, reports RBC with reference to two sources close to the publishing house.
It is reported that the cause of termination of cooperation was the requirement of the new leadership “AC Media” to make Forbes Woman and Forbes Life quarterly applications to the magazine Forbes. “They want to release something very easy, enjoyable and deeply consumer – such a beautiful catalog. I said that the new concept to fulfill not ready, so to me a contract would not be renewed,” explained Taratuta.
According to her, the management ID was not satisfied with the materials that went before in Forbes Life and Forbes Woman. The General Director of “AC Media” Natalia Gandurina began to challenge articles that are planned to be prepared in the following issues of magazines. In addition, said Taratuta, she tried to withdraw one of the already published materials of the last number of Forbes Life devoted to media managers.
Journalists noted that the very Gandurina declined to comment on RBC’s situation with the departure of Taratuta.
Yulia Taratuta was the head of Forbes Life and Forbes Woman April 2014. According to her, during this period, advertising sales at Forbes Life and Forbes Woman has increased by about 60%. “It seems illogical to me to revisit the concept, when you think you’re doing everything right, and numbers on your side,” added Taratuta. During the crisis, Forbes Life and Forbes Woman were the most stable income publications “Axel Springer Russia” (Forbes entered it through the fall of 2015), has informed RBC a former General Director of publishing house Regina von Flemming.
In October this year after the departure of the former Director of the owner of the publishing house “AC Media” (former Axel Springer Russia), Alexander Fedotov has declared at a meeting with employees of the publishing house, the magazines “GEO”, “Gala Biography” and “geo for kids” will be closed, will remain Forbes, OK! and sites Forbes.ru and Finanz.ru.
In the middle of September it became known that the company ARTCOM Media, part of the ACMG and controlled by Fedotov, bought 100% Axel Springer Russia the German concern Axel Springer SE. Then it was assumed that Regina von Flemming will leave his post on 1 January 2016. In addition, it was reported that she Fedotov agreed to buy 20% stake in the company and will take the post of adviser to the General Director. Fedotov himself said that exact arrangements for the sale of shares and terms of the transaction.
Note that this is not the first change in the leadership of the Russian media from the beginning of December. Earlier, the journalist Mikhail Zygar, who led the TV channel “Rain” since the autumn of 2010, left the post of chief editor. In addition, closed the magazine “Afisha”, and his entire editorial staff was fired.
