EU leaders on Saturday evening issued a joint statement on the terrorist attacks in Paris, which they called an attack on the entire European Union.
The heads of States and governments of EU countries and leaders of institutions in a joint statement said: “the European Union is deeply shocked and saddened by the terrorist attacks in
Paris. It is an attack on all of us. We will rise up against this threat together
with all necessary means and with ruthless determination”. The full text is published on the website of the European Commission.
The authors of the statement called to commemorate the victims of the terrorist attacks with a moment
of silence on 16 November in all the countries of the EU, reports “Interfax”.
Friday night in Paris there was a series of terrorist attacks. Unknown opened fire at one of the restaurants of the 10th district of the French capital, three explosions were heard in the vicinity of the stadium, where was held a friendly match the football teams of France and Germany, which was attended by French President Francois Hollande. At a rock concert in the Bataclan theatre in the 11th arrondissement, the unknown took hostages. Victims of a series of attacks were at least 128 people, about a hundred injured are in serious condition. Responsibility for the attack lay with “Islamic state” (IG, organisation banned in Russia.)
