The Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) has begun to evaluate the condom market, reports TASS with reference to the press service of the Antimonopoly Agency.
The market analysis conducted pursuant to paragraph 20 of the plan of measures for implementation of the strategy to combat HIV spread in the Russian Federation.
“Yes, we started the analysis of the market, but any market analysis has several major stages. The first stage involves a preliminary description of the geographical and grocery borders, now inside FAS we started the discussion. The next stage is the confirmation of the preliminary conclusions, the establishment of manufacturers, suppliers, volumes and determining market share. I hope that by June we will go to the second stage” – quoted in this connection, the RNS statement of the head of Department of control of social sphere and trade FAS Timothy Nizhegorodtsev on the sidelines of the SPBILF-2017.
Earlier, the government appointed the FAS, the Ministry of industry and trade, Roszdravnadzor and the Ministry of health responsible for implementing the development of a mechanism of reduction of prices on “medical device that is used as a barrier contraceptive” in the framework of the state strategy for combating HIV in Russia up to 2020.
The report is to be submitted to the government in the third quarter of this year.
