Regional management of Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) in St. Petersburg warned the Committee on tourism development of St. Petersburg about the need to terminate the contract with the Studio of Artemiy Lebedev for the logo design of the city. Cause indicated the presence of signs of infringement of the Antimonopoly law, reported the press service management.

“Saint-Petersburg OFAS Russia warns the Committee for tourism development of the need in the period up to 30 November 2016 to terminate the contract concluded with OOO “Studiya Art. Lebedev”, – explained in management. Complaints to the Federal Antimonopoly service in July this year requested LLC “Marketing company “Boris Grigoriev and partners”, added the press service.

When checking the competition authority found that between the Committee on tourism development and by Lebedev Studio was contracted to develop logo Petersburg. One of the points of the contract stated that the Studio is on the instructions of the city authorities developed a series of tourist logo of the city, in the same paragraph of the agreement it is reported that the work is of proper quality accepted in full and without comment.

“Thus, at the time of signing of the agreement was already executed, that is, the Studio got access to information about the need for the development of the logo of St. Petersburg a priority, which led to the creation of discriminatory conditions for economic entities engaged in similar activities in the market of advertising services”, – explained in management.

The contract with the Studio of Artemiy Lebedev in the development of a series of logos were signed in October 2014. In the Studio for the work done received 1 ruble. Earlier, the official website of the Studio Artemia Lebedev have already been published touristic logo of Saint-Petersburg together with a unique font and examples of advertising campaigns to promote the city among tourists.

Last spring, the designers of the Artemy Lebedev Studio came up with a new logo of the Crimea. Designers presented different semantic and abstract shapes for the logo: “Sea”, “Landscape”, “Sand”, “Nature”, “Beach”, “Coffee with milk”, “Abstraction”, “Waves”. Among the themed icons, there are “Camouflage,” as if specially designed for the Russian army.

Note that Studio many years successfully working with orders, including those associated with Moscow. In February 2013, the contest to select a new metro scheme has won the project of the Studio of Artemiy Lebedev.

FAS has demanded from the authorities of St. Petersburg to cancel the contract with the Studio of Artemiy Lebedev in the development of a city logo 19.10.2016
