Foreign Ministry threatens United States with accusations of cyberterrorism, and requires to voice the official position in connection with publications in the American media that “military hackers” allegedly ready to attack on the information system of the Kremlin. In the comments of the representative of the foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said: “we Expect the reaction of the US authorities, including the White house and the state Department, with a legal assessment of this information. The lack of official reaction from the us administration will mean the existence in the U.S. state cyber-terrorism”.
Zakharova also said: “In the case of enforcement threats, broadcasted through American media, Moscow will have every right to show Washington the appropriate charges.”
Press Secretary of Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov said earlier that safety is at the appropriate level.
American TV channel NBC News, citing security sources and documents reported that “military hackers” penetrated into the Russian infrastructure, including the “management system of the Kremlin.” Sources claimed that the decision to attack is made, but this penetration creates conditions for it. The United States to use cyber weapons “in the unlikely event if we encounter a significant attack,” in particular, the eve of the presidential election.
