Former football player of Russian national team Alexey Smertin successfully overcame the distance of the London marathon in 2016. He ran the classic distance of 42 kilometers and 195 meters in 3 hours, 4 minutes and 3 seconds.

Smertin won the 527-th place in the age category 40 to 44 years.
For 40-year-old Stayer marathon in the British capital was the fourth such test in his career.

For comparison, won the London marathon in 2016 Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge with a time of 2:03,04.

Note that Smertin on April 7 was led by “diary of a marathon runner”, which talked about preparing for the competition, diluting their stories of various tales.

Smertin, who played 55 matches for the Russian national team, finished his career in 2008.
