The former captain of the national team of Russia on football Roman Shirokov took the post of adviser to the Minister of physical culture and sports of Moscow region Roman Tereshkova. Initially, the Advisor will develop youth football in the region.

“Yes, it is. We want to strengthen its leadership in some moments. We will first develop children’s and youth football, because it is the basis for football clubs”, – quotes Shirokova the Agency “R-Sport”.

Wednesday in Istra already held the tournament on football among commands of children’s homes for a Cup of Roman Shirokov.

“I am sure that my colleagues-the Ministers of the regions green with envy because we had such a leader of football, which will raise it to a new level and his experience and desire to lead the football dividend, it is our task to educate the young generation of players, which later can be a good reserve for the youth and main teams”, – TASS quoted the speech of the regional Minister Tereshkova.

In early July, the 35-year-old Shirokov has decided to end his playing career. He is the triple champion of Russia, winner of the national Cup, Cup and UEFA super Cup, bronze medalist of European championship 2008.

The last club was Shirokov of CSKA Moscow, who he joined last winter, signing a contract for six months.
