The former President of Greece Constantinos Stephanopoulos, died at the age of 90 years. This was reported in the official Twitter of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

The government has expressed sincere condolences to the family of former head of state.

Konstantinos Stephanopoulos, who was in power from 1995 to 2005, died in a hospital in Athens, reports TASS with reference to AFP.

Konstantinos Stephanopoulos was born in 1926, the city Desks at the South-West of Greece. He received his law degree, and in 1958 first elected to public office.

In 1995 he was elected President of Greece, and in 2000 was re-elected to this post. Stephanopoulos visited Russia with official visit in 2000.
