Grand Prix Moscow international film festival (MIFF) an Iranian film “Daughter” directed by Reza Mirkarimi, reports the website of the festival. The closing ceremony of the festival took place at the Metropolitan theater “Russia”.

The film tells about a traditional Iranian family, where all decisions are made by a conservative father. The usual way falls apart when fifteen-year-old Saharah instead of celebrating the betrothal of a younger sister is flying to Tehran to pursue his friend, emigrating to Canada.

“This is the second time I’m taking the “St. George” from Moscow, and both times the prize for films about family values” – quoted by TASS Director Mirkarimi. Eight years ago he was awarded the Grand Prix for the film “easy”.

The prize for best actor went to Farhad Aslani, played in the film “Daughter.” Best female performer was 13-year-old Filipina Teresa of variety malvar, played in the film “Shroud”.

The award for best Director was awarded to the Danish PUK Grasten for crime drama ’37”. Special prize of the jury went to the film “Singing shoes” of the Bulgarian Director Radoslav Spasov.

Best documentary acknowledged Korean film directed by Cero una “Lady B. story of a woman from North Korea”. The award for short film received the tape “Full selfie” directed by Nicole Brending.

The festival took place in 38 times, it took place from 23 to 30 June. For the main prize of the competition to claim 13 films from Denmark, Serbia, Korea, Poland, France, Iran, Brazil, Italy, Philippines and Russia.

Grand Prix of the festival went to the Iranian film “the Daughter” 01.07.2016
