The Federal service of execution of punishments (FSIN) has denied recent press reports about the poor health of one of the defendants in high-profile cases of corruption in the SK Mikhail Maksimenko. About it reports “Interfax” citing an unnamed source in the Department.

According to him, Maksimenko may not fear for their health – detention center “Lefortovo”, where the prisoner, equipped with a system of surveillance, and he “is under police surveillance” and is under the constant supervision of the prison doctors.

All rights Maksimenko met and the diet of its food does not differ from the diet of the other prisoners, the source added. Maksimenko fears for his life a spokesman called “baseless”.

About the deteriorating health Maksimenko reported earlier, members of the Public oversight Commission (POC). On the days they visited the General TFR in jail and noted that he “lost a lot of weight, haggard,” wrote Novaya Gazeta.

“Maksimenko after that didn’t remember his name, didn’t recognize anyone,” said Nikandrov. He added that expensive psychotropic medications “just don’t use” and use them only with the permission of the Director of the FSB. He also noted that against him, such funds have not yet been used.

On October 13, the Chairman of the PMC in Moscow eve Markachev said that “after the story of psychotropic drugs” Maksimenko stopped taking prison food, “fearing that there is something to add”. He also refuses treatment in “Lefortovo”, since the tablets, which gave prison doctors, he’s “worse”.

Human rights defenders recommended that “immediately hospitalized Maksimenko” and begin his treatment outside the prison. The head of management of own safety of the RCDS Mikhail Maksimenko, his Deputy Alexander Limonov and the first Deputy head of the Moscow dome RCDS Denis Nikandrov was arrested in July of this year.
