Forward Magnitogorsk “Metallurgist” Wojtek Wolski was placed in intensive care after the home match of the regular championship of the Continental hockey League with Astana “Barys” (3:1).

Hockey player received a serious injury in the 48th minute of the match. In an attempt to jump to keep the puck in the zone, he failed to hit his head on the Board. Off the ice, the victim was carried off on a stretcher.

As informs a press-service of the club, Volsky a fracture of the seventh and fourth cervical vertebrae, an injury of the cervical spinal cord, a concussion, bruises and abrasions on the face.

Currently, the hockey player is in the intensive care unit, which is connected with the necessity of permanent control over the condition of the player and the introduction of targeted medications. After a medical consultation, it was decided that surgical corrections of fractures is not required.

It is also reported that 30-year-old canadian of Polish origin on 15 October will be transferred to the Department of neurosurgery, and a few days resolved the issue of the place of his further treatment.

According to approximate dates Wojtek Wolski out of the lineup until the end of the season 2016/2017.
