In the Belgian city of Verviers set a world record for baking the longest cake “éclair”, the TV channel RTL. The length of the finished confectionery products amounted to 676 meters.
Cooking chocolate Goodies took place on Sunday, October 23, and took three hours. Over cakes cupcake worked more than two dozen pastry chefs.
During cooking was used, 750 kilos of ingredients cost about 1500 euros. Most of the products was provided by the sponsors. The proceeds from the sale of six thousand pieces of cake will go to charity.
“To make the Eclair wasn’t that hard, it was more difficult to handle this number of raw materials,” the channel quoted the words of the initiator of the action – chocolatier Jean-Philippe Darcis. On his page on Facebook he posted photos of the event and thanked his team.
The record was certified by a notary, but will not be included in the Guinness book, as the organizers did not apply. The official world record belongs to the Swiss bakery, but it is significantly more modest Belgian – only 503 meters.
Also in the record books have the record of the largest mosaic of eclairs, which was laid out in November 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland. For its creation it took 23.7 thousand cakes.
And the fastest consumer of eclairs is recognized as canadian Pete Czerwinski nicknamed Furious Pete (“Crazy Pete”). His record is three eclairs in a minute. And in June of this year in the American state of Michigan was made the longest ice cream – more than 905 meters.
