Former Deputy Prime Minister of the UK Nick Clegg has called the International Federation of football associations (FIFA) to deprive Russia the right to host the world Cup 2018 due to the military operation in Syria. If this does not happen, he urged other countries to boycott the world Cup.

“It is beyond understanding: Russia will hold the world Cup. What is this world? They violate the rights of people, bombed Syria, and we’re going to play football in Moscow in 2018?” said Clegg live on ITV.

“Russia should be deprived of the right to host any international competitions. FIFA should take away their 2018 world Cup. If the situation does not change, we should boycott this tournament”, he added.
