In August a new General contractor of construction of stadium for the final stage of works was selected the company “Metrostroy”, which received a contract for 7.8 billion rubles to finish construction of the “Zenit-Arena” and build adjacent to the stadium area. While the Federal government acknowledgedthat the new contractor may require additional attachments, and Smolny immediately approved a plan for the transfer of 2.6 billion rubles from the construction of hospitals and schools for the completion of “Zenit-Arena”.
The stadium was founded in 2007. His project was adjusted three times – in 2008, 2010 and 2013, and in the end the cost of the arena from an estimated 6.7 billion initially, has grown to date to 39.2 billion.

October 1, St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko called the working situation at the facility.
