In London, Patriarch Kirill has consecrated the Uspensky Cathedral and tombstone on the grave of Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh

Patriarch Kirill remembered his first meeting with Metropolitan in 1965

Metropolitan Anthony (bloom) was born in 1914 in Lausanne, in the family
the employee of the Russian diplomatic service. His father had
Scottish ancestry, and his mother was half-sister of the composer
Alexander Scriabin. After the revolution in Russia, the family a few years
wandered through Europe and in 1923 settled in Paris.
Anthony graduated from the biological and medical faculties of the Sorbonne. In
1939 secretly took monastic vows and went to the front in
an army surgeon (1939-1940 years), then worked as a doctor in
