In Los Angeles on Thursday, 10 December, will announce the nominees for the award “Golden globe”, awarded annually by the foreign press Association of Hollywood. Among the favourites of the critics call such films, as “Survivor”, “In the spotlight”, the “Spy bridge”, “Disgusting eight”, “Carol” and others.

Last year the prize in the nomination “best film in a foreign language” got “Leviathan” by Andrei Zvyagintsev. In this year’s list of nominees included a picture of Russian Director Ella manzheeva the “Seagull”, notes RIA “Novosti”.

Previously, the ribbon was awarded as the best debut “Kinotavr”. In addition, the film “the Seagull” became the best film of the parallel program of the film festival in palić, Serbia, was nominated for APSA UNESCO Award in the “Asian Oscars”. In November, the film “the Seagull” was included in the long list of contenders for the prize of the National Academy of motion picture arts and Sciences of Russia “Golden eagle 2015″ in the category “Best feature film”. Another award – jury diploma “For best Director” – the film won at the film festival “Beginning” in St. Petersburg.

“Starting with the world premiere at the Berlinale and becoming the best debut “Kinotavr”, “Seagull” has made a dizzying journey through Russian and international film festivals. And now the film will compete for the “Golden globe”, we, of course, especially proud. We value any opportunity to communicate the picture to the largest possible number of viewers,” commented the producer Elena Glikman on the official page of “Gulls” in Facebook.

The main heroine of the film “the Seagull” – the fisherman’s wife Elsa lives in a small seaside town in Kalmykia. She was unhappy in the marriage and wants to leave the husband to obtain freedom and independence. But suddenly her husband dies. Her husband’s death forces the heroine to reflect and reconsider her views on life, happiness, freedom.
