Militants attacked a police Academy in Pakistan. The attack resulted in at least 20 cadets were killed and over 100 injured, reports Reuters.
According to the representative of local authorities, in the premises of the Academy at the moment, there are approximately 200 trainees. While some of them, as said the interlocutor of the Agency, the militants took hostage.
In the regional Ministry of internal Affairs, the Agency reported that the attack was made to six of the militants. They broke into the Academy building later on Monday evening, October 24, when most cadets were already asleep.
Meanwhile, the newspaper Dawn reports that the attack was made by three militants. While two staged a suicide bombing in the building, which caused large number of victims among the students. The third attacker was killed by soldiers of the counter-terrorism operation.
None of the terrorist organizations operating in the country, has not yet claimed responsibility for the attack. However, the newspaper Dawn said that the attackers were the liaisons in Afghanistan.
Attacked the Academy is located near the city of Quetta, which is located in the Central part of Pakistan. This is not the first attack on this Academy. School for Pakistani security forces came under attack in 2008 and 2006.
