The first thesis of theology in modern Russia will be put on the defense at the end of may, dissertation Council on theology already previously looked into it, reports RIA “Novosti” with reference to the Department for external Church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate.
“This will be the first defense of theology,” said the Secretary of the joint dissertation Council on the theology of the priest Dmitry Safonov.
The scientific degree will qualify Archpriest Paul Hondzinsky, who wrote a work on the theme “the Solution of problems of the Russian theology of the eighteenth century in the synthesis of St. Philaret, Metropolitan of Moscow”. If the defense is successful, the priest will receive the degree of candidate of philosophical and historical Sciences.
