The protest of the taxi drivers was held in Smolensk at the cinema “Sovremennik”. The organizers of the rally considered an unfair auction for the right to conclude contracts for the use of municipal routes, which remained without work for about 200 people.
According to the Ministry of internal Affairs of the Smolensk region, in the action participated about 100 people. Organizers said about 300 participants, reports “Interfax”.
The organizers claim that the company officially recognized the winners of the auction, which the administration undertook in early June, did not meet the criteria listed in the tender documentation.
“Following the requirements of the competition, many drivers bought new buses, not older than three years, took out loans. As a result, most of the routes in the auction went to the municipal enterprise, and
200 people lost their jobs. NTM-a and no new buses and not enough of their vehicles. It is possible to conclude the contract and work, but you have to pay a lot of money”, – told “Interfax” one of the
the organizers of the rally.
In its resolution the participants of the rally demanded to cancel results of auction and to send in resignation the head of the city Nikolai Alasheyev, whom they consider as responsible for the unfair redistribution of the passenger transport market”. At the meeting also decided on the formation of the independent trade Union of motor carriers.
