The police of St. Petersburg detained a 39-year-old visitor from the Novosibirsk region, who is suspected of stealing Luggage at the Moscow station. According to the detainee, the stolen property he was going to spend on your holiday, reports the official website of UT the interior Ministry in the northwestern Federal district.

The investigation began after the police asked 23-year-old man who reported his missing suitcase with personal belongings for a total amount of 20 thousand rubles. As explained by the victim when he was having dinner in a cafe at the Moscow station, he briefly got distracted by a phone call. When the man returned, the suitcase beside the table was gone.

Investigators quickly identified the suspect, who was a tourist from Siberia, living in one of the hostels of St. Petersburg. After the arrest unemployed man gave a curious explanation for his behavior. He said that the stolen money “wanted to spend on leisure in the Northern capital”.
