In the U.S. state of Tennessee man opened fire in a movie theater, located in the town of Antioch – South-Eastern suburbs of Nashville, and was killed by police during the arrest, according to ABC News. It later emerged that he was armed with a pneumatic gun and was carrying an axe.

According to authorities, 29-year-old Vincent Montano made a fire and sprayed pepper gas at the cinema on Wednesday, about 13 hours local time (21:00 Moscow time). He also opened fire on police arrived on a call. One of the guards fired in response to the defeat from his service weapon. The attacker died of his wounds, reports TASS.

It is reported that during a session in the auditorium, in addition to the attacker, there were seven more people. Three spectators easily suffered from gas. One of them received a wound from a blow with an axe.

Police say the attacker was also in possession of a hoax explosive device.

It has been established that Montano was homeless, suffered from mental illness and was treated in a psychiatric hospital at least four times over the last year. Two days ago he fled from such an institution. The investigation continues.
