North Korean authorities announced three days of mourning in connection with demise of Fidel Castro. The leaders of the DPRK sent to the brother of the leader of the Cuban revolution, the Council of State and President of the Council of Ministers of Cuba Raul Castro telegram with words of sympathy.

Mourning the passing of Fidel Castro will continue in Korea from 28 to 30 November. All the Central institutions of the Republic in this three-day period will be raised mourning flags, reported TASS with reference to the newspaper Rodong Sinmun.

Sunday, November 27, the North Korean leader Kim Jong UN sent a telegram with words of sympathy to the Chairman of the state Council of Cuba Raul Castro in connection with the death of his brother. The message says that Fidel Castro “was an outstanding leader of the Cuban people, a prominent political figure who made an enormous contribution to the struggle against imperialism, for independence, socialism and justice”.

The Chairman of the workers ‘ party of Korea and the state Council of the DPRK stressed that the deceased is a Cuban politician “honorably defended the sovereignty and dignity of the country, created a socialist system in which the people for the first time in the Western hemisphere has become a true master.”

Also, Kim Jong UN noted that Fidel Castro “was a close friend of the Korean people, took measures for the development of relations, friendship and cooperation between the parties, governments and peoples of the two countries, supported our efforts for national reunification.”

In addition, a telegram with words of sympathy to Raul Castro has written to the Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme people’s Assembly Kim Yong Nam and Prime Minister Pak Bong Du, reports TASS with reference to the news Agency KCNA. “Fidel Castro has died, but his achievements in the implementation of the Cuban revolution and the development of fraternal relations of friendship between Cuba and the DPRK will last forever”, – underlined in the message.

The historic leader of the Cuban revolution, founder and leader of the first socialist state in the Western hemisphere – Cuba – Fidel Castro, died on Friday evening, on 91-m to year of life, which is his brother Raul Castro announced on state television. The funeral of the leader of the Cuban revolution appointed on 4 December in Santiago de Cuba.
