In the Kremlin explained Putin’s words about apologies of the US officials: this was before the publication of “the Panama document”
The words of Russian President Vladimir Putin about the apology of some American officials to Russia attracted the attention of the media. The journalists decided to find out from press Secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov, who apologized to the Russian side.
But the Kremlin decided not to name the source of the apology. The head of the presidential press service only said that apologized to Russia until the publication of “the Panama document”, reports “Interfax”. “It was earlier, before the advent of “the Panama papers,” said the press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, Peskov explained, why will not name those who had apologized for the rudeness. “Because the President did not name those who did, respectively, don’t think I can do it”, – told reporters the head of the Kremlin press service. The President’s spokesman also did not answer the question about what the episode is about.
The day before, speaking at the media forum of the Russian popular front (onf) “Truth and justice” in St. Petersburg, Putin, commenting on the offshore scandal, reported the apology by US officials to Russia for the rudeness. “And the fact that it (the publication “the Panama document”. – Approx. NEWSru.com) are, say, officials and official bodies of the United States, it is now to us WikiLeaks has shown. What they allow themselves to be rude sometimes publicly, for that we apologized to some administration officials, but not because they were ashamed, but because they are smarter than those who did”, – said the President of the Russian Federation.
According to Putin, “when the officials of the state Department or the US administration claim some boorish things, it means that they represent themselves as stakeholders”, which is bad for the USA from the point of view of achieving the final result. “And well for us, because we understand who the customer is,” concluded the President.
Commenting on own “the Panama document”, Putin suggested that the aim of their authors was to sow distrust of the society towards the authorities, “to set one against the other”. The President also said that his name among the owners of offshore companies in the international investigation is not, therefore, to talk about.
Previously known for its scandalous revelations of WikiLeaks stated that the United States Agency for international development (USAID) and the Soros Foundation funded an investigation by the Center for the study of corruption and organized crime (OCCRP), the International consortium of investigative journalism (ICIJ) and other organizations on the basis of the leak of the so-called “Panamanian documents” from the company Mossack Fonseca. The report said that the attack on the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with the help of the publication “the Panama document” was organized by the OCCRP, directed against Russia and former USSR countries and was funded by USAID and George Soros.
In OCCRP has denied that the purpose of the investigation was the defamation of Putin. It should be noted that who received “the Panama document” the source of the leak remains unknown. At least so say the reporters of the German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung, the first received the materials of the Panama company-the Registrar of offshore companies.
Before the President’s press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, stressing that the President is not in the published documents, has called the investigation a”surge”aimed personally against Putin and Russia.
