In the city of Diyarbakir in Southeast Turkey, is considered the unofficial capital of the Turkish Kurds, a powerful explosion. At least one person was killed and over 30 were injured, reports Reuters.

The explosion occurred in the Central district, near the building of the security Department at 8 a.m. local time (coincides with Moscow). The sound of the explosion was heard in many parts of the city. Several nearby buildings were damaged. To the scene sent many ambulances and police, reports CNN Turk.

According to Reuters, the explosion occurred on Friday, November 4, several hours after the arrest of the leaders of the Kurdish opposition party. A source in law enforcement bodies has informed Agency that the incident occurred near a police station in Diyarbakir, which brought the detained oppositionists.

We are talking about the 11 deputies of the Pro-Kurdish democracy Party of the peoples (HDP), among which were the co-chairs of the party, Figen Yuksekdag and Selahattin Demirtas, reports TASS. Part of the members of the PD were taken to court in Diyarbakir. Their detention was due to the fact that earlier they were not in the Prosecutor’s office to testify.

According to preliminary data, exploded a car bomb, the Turkish television channel NTV. The reason for the explosion is still unknown. However, in recent months Turkey has repeatedly become the object of terrorist attacks.

Later, officials accused in the bombing of the members of the outlawed Turkey Kurdistan workers ‘ party (PKK). On the website of the governorate of Diyarbakir province, appeared the following message: “November 4 near the building of Management of police special forces in the Baglar district in Diyarbakir, the members of the separatist terrorist group, believed to be undermined by a car bomb. Wounded are brought for treatment in hospitals” (quoted by RIA “Novosti”).”The separatist terrorist group” in Turkey, the government called the Kurdistan workers ‘ party (PKK).

In early June, President Recep Tayyip erdoğan ratified a law allowing about 150 to deprive members of Parliament of immunity before prosecution. Among these legislators are members of PD who are suspected of assisting the PKK and the propaganda in favor of the organization.
