Collectors beat a pensioner at her home in Yekaterinburg because of unpaid debt on time. She claims she hasn’t paid on time since lay in the hospital, reports “Nasha Gazeta”. The regional Prosecutor’s office initiated the audit, said on the Agency’s website.
In August 2016, the 59-year-old woman was forced to turn to microfinance organizations “Money” to take three thousand rubles. She was sure that of retirement (eight thousand rubles a month) will be able to pay the debt in the shortest possible time. But in the same month was admitted to the hospital with a broken hip, where he spent a long time not being able to repay the loan. Two months later, the MFI exposed to the pensioner account in nine thousand roubles.
The woman asked to reduce the debt or allow you to pay it in installments, but she refused. Moreover, debt continued to grow. Then she got a SMS that “Money” has informed that “does not bear responsibility for the actions of the collectors.” Shortly thereafter, she was beaten by two unknown men.
“I came out of the stairwell, slamming the door. Immediately are suitable for the door, two young men, high. Please open the door for them. Call the number of the apartment in which you go, then the name of the tenant. Say: “I am.” They answered: “the Money to give you?” I answer that went to the law center. They are on me mate. After that, the woman went to the law organization “Uniform center of protection” and recorded in medical traces of shock on his face.
According to the newspaper “Our newspaper”, on account of its now three loans for a total amount of 100 thousand rubles with interest. The other two loan she took in the company “Effective systems”. The pensioner thinks the men were employees of the collection Agency and assaulted because of debts.
Lawyers intend to seek compensation from the attackers. The law “On protection of rights and legitimate interests of individuals with the implementation of overdue debt” was passed by the Parliament on 21 June 2016 and approved by the Federation Council on 29 June 2016. The President signed it on 3 July. Described in the law changes come into force from 1 January 2017.
The new law prohibits collectors to use physical force, threaten the use of, harm to health and property, to put psychological pressure and to mislead. In addition, collectors are prohibited to transfer data on debts to third parties, including relatives and colleagues of the lender, to place such information on the Internet, on buildings and in homes.
