Iran may again allow Russian planes to use base Hamadan for strikes on Syria. This was stated by Minister of defense General Dehghan. The Russian military closed access to the base in August after the Russian media reported the strikes from Hamadan – what Iran called “window dressing.”
The statement of the Minister was quoted by Tasnim News. Hossein Dehghan stated that Iran is ready to cooperate with Moscow that will allow us to support the legitimate government of Syria.
He also said that Russia agreed to the conditions put forward by Iran in the framework of the transaction on purchase of Russian su-30, “co investment and provision of technology.”
Russian aircraft about a week used the air base in Hamadan for strikes on targets “Islamic state” in Syria, reporting about it to the media. General Dehghan said then that Moscow used the opportunity to “show off” to show himself “a superpower and influential country.”
According to RBC, based in Hamadan were to be placed strategic bombers Tu-22M3 and multifunctional su-34 involved in the raids on terrorist positions in Syria. But these plans after the demarche to the Iranian side had to be abandoned.
