Belarus would like to participate in the privatization of “Bashneft”, but the Russian government prevents the admission of the country to oil development in Russia.
About it as transfers BelTA, said Thursday the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a press conference for Russian regional mass media, during which he also shared the belief that the Soviet Union collapsed due to the lack of washing powder.
It could go on Belarusian refineries and other interested in Moscow enterprises, for example the chassis manufacturer for missiles “Topol” and plant MAZ.
“Recently, a privatization of “Bashneft”, we sent a proposal to your leadership. Let the shares of companies with the condition that they will work better, will exchange the shares of “Bashneft”. The answer is no. You don’t want me,” said the Belarusian leader.
Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov quickly commented on the statement from Minsk, saying that the proposal could be of interest if it is more advantageous than the other. “That is a question of economic feasibility”, – quotes “Interfax” the President’s press Secretary.
Lukashenko in his speech, recalled that his reproach is that he doesn’t want to privatize four Belarusian enterprises. According to him, the Russians are interested in purchasing the Minsk wheel tractor plant, the company “Integral” and some enterprises of the space industry. “I say good, you have interest to these plants, you want them to buy, and I have interest in oil production. 7-8-10 million tons we could produce ourselves and supply to Belarus,” Lukashenka said.
According to him, it would be “right and good”. “If anyone in Russia thinks that here we have to buy oil and gas and it would be possible for Belarus to influence, – Yes, – he said. – It should be projects that need to attract, not alienate”.
Lukashenko intends to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 22 to discuss the differences between the countries. “We still have a lot of problems, which should not be that sometimes overshadow our relations,” – he explained.
The head of Belarus also said that Belarus was once mined up to 7 million tons per year, and noted that it is considering several alternative options of the Russian oil supplies. One of them is associated with the Ukrainian vector and provide for the involvement of Odessa – Brody pipeline to supply Azerbaijani oil, there are plans for the supply of Iranian oil. “It would be enough if we had 7-8 million tons of oil, we wouldn’t have any problems, we would have the most prosperous country,” – said Lukashenko.
The President RB underlined that the Belarusians are modernizing their refineries, and processing depth will reach soon 90%. “Not a single Russian refinery has a refining depth,” – said Lukashenko.
