The Venezuelan President said that the barrage of criticism and the constant attention to his person from the American leader Donald trump made him famous all over the world.

“It’s an honor that the head of the Empire mentions me every day. It means I’m doing something right!” – quotes Reuters the statement of Maduro in local television. “He made me known worldwide. Every time he talks about me, they love me even more”, – said the head of the Latin American countries who had just arrived home after visiting Russia, Belarus and Turkey.

Earlier, the Venezuelan leader expressed his confidence in the absolute victory of the Pro-government forces in the regional elections, which will be held on 15 October, notes TASS. He stressed that “everyone who goes to vote should know that his voice is a message against the President of the United States.”

USA in August imposed new economic sanctions against Venezuela on the background of confrontation between the government and the opposition, justifying their violations of human rights in the country and corruption. As it became known, thereafter, the rating Maduro at home has increased dramatically. In the latest poll, conducted in September, the head of state positively assessed 23% – 6% more than in July.

Maduro continues to struggle with the opposition. This year in clashes between opposition and government forces in Venezuela, several people were killed, dozens were injured. Authorities have accused the US of destabilizing the situation in the country.
