Joining Malaysia in the composition of the Islamic military coalition under the leadership of Saudi Arabia bears testimony to the commitment of the country’s leadership against terrorism, but does not provide for the participation of Malaysian military in the fighting against the extremist group “Islamic state” (ISIS, ISIL, and DAYSprohibited in Russia). This was stated by the defense Minister hishamuddin Hussein.

“The initiative of Saudi Arabia does not entail military obligations (for Malaysia), but expresses our agreement that we will fight with the fighters”, – quoted him as saying by Free Malaysia Today.

Statement by the Minister of defence of Malaysia was made after the Saudi press Agency circulated on 15 December information about the formation of the Islamic military coalition to fight the IG, composed of 34 States. In particular, it was noted that the coalition includes Egypt, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Malaysia, Pakistan, and a number of other Arab and African States. More than a dozen Islamic countries, including Indonesia, supported this Association.

In a joint statement, the coalition argues that the countries entered into a military Alliance, will fight with terrorist organizations under the leadership of Saudi Arabia, and the coalition headquarters will be located in the city of Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom.

Earlier Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad accused Saudi Arabia of supporting terrorists. Similar statements were heard from Germany.
