Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev in conversation with journalists on results of his visit to Israel and Palestine commented on the resignation of the Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili, who said earlier in the week about leaving, and then released from his post by President Petro Poroshenko.
“I will say simply, in Russian: this passenger is once again clear and, unfortunately for Ukraine, which, perhaps, hoped for the prosperity of Odessa with the arrival of such an experienced person, the result is zero, it is negative,” – said Medvedev (quoted by TASS). He added that, in his opinion, that Saakashvili’s political career is finished.
Already former Governor of the Odessa region, in turn, reacted on the words of the Russian Prime Minister. “Wow, the arguments of the Kremlin coincide with the opinion of some Ukrainian experts. After that, someone else will be able to say that I am an agent of the Kremlin?”, – Saakashvili wrote on his page in Facebook.
Earlier, on 11 November, Saakashvili stated that he is going to create a new political force and wants to make an early election to the Ukrainian Parliament – Verkhovna Rada. He also announced the creation of a new “political force” to counter “the huckster”, which controls the Parliament and the government.
“I want to say that we are creating a vast new political power. Our goal is to change the present so-called elites, and in fact the drug dealers, who control the government and the Parliament”, – said the politician.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on 10 November signed a decree which freed Saakashvili from the post of Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration. The head of the state administration he was appointed may 30, 2015. Before that, he received Ukrainian citizenship. December 4, 2015 the President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili signed a decree on the termination of Georgian citizenship Saakashvili in connection with the adoption of citizenship of another state.
At the briefing of November 7, Saakashvili declared that leaves the post of head of the Odessa regional state administration. Its decision, the politician explained that he’s tired of unfulfilled promises of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and corruption, which is supported by the country’s leadership.
Leaving his post, Saakashvili assured the citizens that he would continue the political struggle. “I’m a soldier who is much as you can and then as much as necessary. How much for the complete victory and to rid Ukraine of this filth, this corruption of the dirt that capitalisim on the blood of our soldiers, the victims of the Maidan, which has betrayed the idea of the Ukrainian revolution and whose only motivation is to line their own pockets, to strengthen your clan and finally to Rob Ukraine”, – said the politician.
