Two cellular operator “the big three” began to raise tariffs for roaming in their networks. Subscribers of MegaFon will have to pay more for calls in neighboring countries and for customers of MTS will increase communication during the trips to Russia, the newspaper “Vedomosti”.

From 25 October terminated the connection by selecting “Megaphone” called “Neighbouring countries”, which allows subscribers to make cheap calls while roaming when you visit the countries of the Eurasian economic Union. The reasons for this decision are not yet known. Subscribers who have already activated this option, you can use it on the same grounds.

The monthly fee for the use of the option amounted to 33 rubles a day, while the cost of incoming and outgoing calls to connected subscribers, was down more than 10 times.

MTS beginning with the 25 October charges user tariffs Smart, Smart Nonstop, “Smart bezlimita” 15 rubles per day for communication services in roaming in Russia. In the press statement says that the funds will be debited the first time you use communication services outside the home region. Before that, travel to Russia from these tariffs acted home prices with no additional charges.

MTS representative explained that prices are adjusted only for new subscribers. Representatives of “VimpelCom” (“Beeline”) and “T2 RTK holding” (Tele2) assure that their company in the near future is not going to change roaming tariffs.
Otkritie Capital analyst Alexander Vengranovich explained to the publication that the operators gradually cease to fear that the increase in costs can lead to churn.
