Petro Poroshenko intends to discuss possible future meeting of four
the leaders of the “Norman format” (Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine). The Chancellor said that the truce in the Donbass never been observed, therefore, the parties will discuss the situation and the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

No preliminary dates were not called. “The meeting in the Normandy format will continue, and we will discuss possible future meeting of four leaders”, – quoted Merkel “Interfax”.

The Chancellor noted that “the new President of France (Emmanuel macron) is ready to continue work on the implementation of the Minsk process”. “So we can say that the Normandy format will exist in the future, and we three presidents and the Chancellor – will in the near future to seek opportunities for contacts,” she added. Merkel said that could be discussed and reforms in Ukraine, “the reforms, which
date implemented and those that should be continued. Another topic will be the bilateral aid of Germany to Ukraine “to improve the welfare of Ukrainians, and the progress already is.”

The first meeting of leaders was held in June 2014 in Normandy to discuss the problems of the situation settlement in Ukraine. At the talks on February 11-12, 2015 were adopted by the Minsk agreement on resolving the crisis in Ukraine – Memorandum of more than a dozen items, the implementation of which should lead to the cessation of the armed conflict.

The last time heads of state met in October 2016.
