As a result of collapse of the boom at the stadium in the French city of Amiens, where there was a match of national championship on football between the same club and Lille, injured 26 people, four of them are in serious condition, reports TASS with reference to AFP. The meeting was eventually aborted.
The incident occurred shortly after in the 15th minute of the match LOSC player fodé Ballo Touré scored a goal scored. The away fans crowd rushed to the first rows of the arena, celebrating the scored goal. The fence did not survive the influx of so many people and collapsed.
The stadium quickly came a large number of ambulances that brought the injured to the hospital.
Reuters, citing its own sources reports that the accident injured 18 people, three of them seriously. The Agency also notes that the players and coach of LOSC Lille after the termination of the match returned to the field and approached the fans that remained at the podium.
Reuters recalls that a similar incident occurred in France in 1992, before the France match between “Monaco” and “Marcelle”. Then the consequences were far more tragic: the collapse of the rostrum killed 18 people.
