MSU and MGIMO better than all the Russian universities listed in the ranking of graduates ‘ employment
Seven Russian universities are in a new world ranking, published by the British company Quacquarelli Symonds. None of Russian universities were not included in the hundred world leaders, but for individual indicators in the employment of graduates separated MGU, MGIMO and MISIS, reports TASS.
A world leader rankings were American universities ranked in the first three and most of the positions in the head of the ranking. The first in the ranking 2016/2017 became the Massachusetts Institute of technology in second place and Stanford University rounded out the top three Harvard. The first non-us University has become the fourth-ranked University of Cambridge (UK). And the only non-us and non-UK institution in the top ten were Swiss Federal University of technology.
The rating, which assessed the prospects of employment of graduates, looks much more affordable: in addition to the American and British, are in the top ten universities from China, Australia and France.
In the General rating among Russian universities became the MSU, who took 108 place. Last year MSU was in the same place.
The best position among Russian universities in QS 2017 conducted to analyze the relationship between higher education institutions and subsequent job placement of their graduates took the MGU and MGIMO. They settled in the group of universities ranked from position 101 to 150. The study showed that graduates of MGIMO can less likely to worry about work after graduation. This University was one of the world’s leading universities by the criterion of “Employment within the first 12 months after graduation” of typing on this indicator the highest possible score (100).
The drafters of the rating indicate that this University has gone against world trends. In General, the high position it occupied universities that focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). “The publication of the ranking of 2017 demonstrates that universities specializing in STEM disciplines, are more successful in terms of graduate employment, – TASS quoted the head of the research Department of QS Ben Sauter. – However, the results of MGIMO prove that universities with other disciplinary priorities can also provide its graduates a successful career”.
