Calendar of the Russian football Premier League (RFPL) season-2017/18 will be made after June 20. This was announced by the President of the Russian football Union (RFU) and Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Vitaly Mutko. According to him, the League still is discussing the calendar and the press got only a preliminary version. In the discussed embodiment the autumn part of the championship ends on 10 December, and on that date appointed the Moscow Derby Spartak-CSKA.

“The League while only discussing the calendar. What got into the press is closed until only the structure of the calendar. I think that we will gather on June 20, sit, talk, and then imagine some kind of final version,” said Mutko, quoted by TASS. –
“It is strange to see that games are scheduled after 10 December. If so, then they should be held in the South of the country.”

Mutko stressed that the upcoming season will be the last before the home world Cup, so the calendar of the Premier League must take into account the interests of the national team and clubs involved in European competitions. “Clubs don’t have to fly to Khabarovsk, and two days later to play in the Champions League,” – said the head of the RFU.

Also at the conference RFU in St. Petersburg of the pack know the date and venue of the final of the Cup of Russia of a season-2017/18. As the head of the Russian football Premier League (RFPL) Sergey Pryadkin, important match will take a new stadium in Volgograd.

“We want to hold the final of the Cup of Russia on may 9 and will stick to this date. The preliminary venue for the final of the Cup of Russia – Volgograd,” said Pryadkin.

Earlier President RFS Vitaly Mutko has repeatedly offered annually the finals of the Russian Cup at the reconstructed stadium “Luzhniki” in Moscow.

Volgograd never took the final matches of the Cup of Russia. “Volgograd-arena” (capacity – 45 thousand spectators) is being built for the world Cup in 2018. The stadium will host four matches of the group round of the tournament.

Mutko promised that the calendar of the Premier League will change 18.06.2017
