The former head of the banned in Russia organization “Russian” Dmitry Demushkin told journalists on presentation to him of the new charges under article “Excitation of hatred or enmity”. “Today in the UK of Moscow has filed eight charges under article 282 of the criminal code,” – said Demushkin “Interfax”.
According to him, he’s charged with in mind the placement on the page in social networks of pictures and photos of banners recognized extremist. The Agency has not received official confirmation of this information from the RCDS.
Demushkin himself in the comment “Russian service BBC” refused to provide details, but confirmed the fact of filing new charges. He also said that is the investigator.
We will remind, in December of 2015 Demushkin has been detained on suspicion of distributing extremist publications in social networks. He was charged under part 1 of article 282 of the criminal code. According to investigators, in 2013, Demushkin has posted on his page in one of social networks, open for free viewing to users, the number of articles with extremist content “in order to incite hatred and hostility towards a particular group of people”.
In January the former leader of the “Russians” was included in the list of persons involved in financing extremist activity. He reported that because of the entry in the register on the website of Rosfinmonitoring it is not possible to open an account in any Bank for receiving awarded to him by the Tver district court compensation in two criminal cases in which he was acquitted.
In February, the Supreme court considered the appeal of representatives of the movement “Russian” and upheld the decision of Moscow city court about a ban of activity. A few days later at the request of the General Prosecutor’s office were blocked by about ten groups in social network “Vkontakte”, dedicated to the “Russian marches”. Demushkin, commenting on the event, noted that in social networks were placed only archives on the events and instructions for submitting applications. He suggested that the group was blocked because of old records in which mention of the nationalist movement, now banned in Russia.
Demushkin – the founder of the movement “Russian” and “Slavic Union”, which were recognized as extremist, one of the organizers of regular “Russian marches”. From March 2015 he was arrested more than 10 times and on several occasions placed under administrative arrest for a demonstration or banned extremist symbols.
